Krauss got his name out in the Cape Cod League last summer, when he was ranked as the circuit's #27 prospect. He also had a scintillating spring for the Bobcats, hitting .402/.521/.852 with 27 homers while playing a variety of positions. His production comes from his strike zone discipline, strength (6-3, 225), and all-fields approach. He isn't particularly athletic or great at any position, but a team could take a flier on him sometime after the sandwich round.
Randal Grichuk, of, Lamar Consolidated HS (TX)
Grichuk is pretty much just a righty-hitting corner outfielder, so all his value comes from his bat. His bat is pretty good, though. While his pull-happy approach leaves something to be desired, he has strong hands, excellent raw power, and a willingness to work. He is signed to play at the University of Arizona, but he might be picked high enough in the draft to pass up the Wildcats.
Steven Baron, c, Ferguson HS (FL)
Baron has zoomed past many others toward the top of the deep high school catching crop this year. He has great catch-and-throw skills, an above-average arm, and he will play catcher at the next level with ease. He has some feel for hitting, but his defensive prowess will be the asset that gets him drafted in the first couple rounds.
