Just got a bit of information in regards to Clint Barmes. If the Astros don't sign Barmes during the off season, this could get the attention from a slew of teams especially the Cardinals. This shortstop/second baseman would be a cheap pick up. With the possibility of losing Skip Schumacher he could naturaly fit in as a starting second baseman. Keep your eyes on Barmes.
As seen here with Mark McGwire, assistant batting coach Mike Aldrete might be in the running to be the Athletics batting coach. Early this week the A's asked the Cardinals for permission to talk with Aldrete in regards to the position.
Joe Strauss reports that the Cardinals pitching coach Dave Duncan might step down due to his wife's brain malignancy thats getting worse. My prayers are with the Duncan family.
