The Keepers: - #89 - OF - Dustin Lawley

89.              Dustin Lawley:

7-5-11: - Okay, we’re going to have to keep an eye on K-Port OFer, Dustin Lawley. He went 4-5 last night, raising his line to .320/.345/.500/.845. It includes one home run but only two more walks than that. The 22-yr. old comes out of Wallace State CC/University of West Florida, as a 19th round draft pick this past June. Had nice stats in his senior year (.338, 10-HR, 22-doubles, 28-SB), but one always questions the competition this far down. Still, anyone that bats over .300 at any level gets our attention.

8-14-11: - http://metsmerizedonline.com/2011/08/kingsport-mets-team-report-stretch-run-edition.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+MetsMerizedOnline-GetMetsmerized-NewYorkMets+%28Mets+Merized+Online%29&utm_content=Twitter  - Dustin Lawley - Drafted from the same West Florida program as Greg Pron in the 19th round of this year’s draft, the 6’1″ 195lb. Lawley has shown excellent versatility by playing all three OF positions and 3B for the K-Mets. He leads the team in 2B’s (15 which is good for 4th in the league), RBI’s (32), and is tied for first on the team in Total Bases (92), this year in 178 AB’s. He is second on the team in 3B’s (3), HR’s (6) and OPS (.847), and third on the team in Hits (53) and SLG (.517), and is hitting .298. Lawley is another athletic outfielder, drafted by the new regime, whose make-up and skills should translate well to Citifield someday, perhaps as Alex would say, “in 2014!” One thing is for certain, the competition for playing time in the Savannah outfield in 2012 will be very fierce.

9-11-11: - Stock Up – OF Dustin Lawley – Lawley  was promoted on Thursday to Savannah for the playoff series. Lawley has already proved he can produce at the lower levels and his bat is much welcomed for the Sand Gnats playoffs.
