Rasmus On Trading Block Again?

The word is according to Cardinal Insider Joe Strauss, the Cardinals may consider trading Colby if the deal brings the Cards a big return.
Colby is hitting .246/.329/.413 with nine home runs in 360 plate appearances this season. These are okay numbers but down from last year. With his numbers slightly down there are interests from other teams. If the Cardinals do trade him Jon Jay would be the starting center fielder. One team the Cards would love to trade with are the Rays. The Rays are rich in pitching. One of the pitchers they are interested in is James Shields. If the Cards are able to trade Rasmus for Shields they would have Shields till 2013 with an option in 2014. As of right now Shields is 8-7 with a 2.33 ERA and a 0.981 WHIP. Shields is only 29 years old with "ace" written all over him. If the Cards are able to make a deal for him this would be a huge win for the Cardinals. To make this happen Mozeliak would have to throw in another player with big stock. I would love to have Shields on my hometown team but on the other hand I hate to see Rasmus traded.
