Well the search for Tony LaRussa's replacement starts Thursday. The process should take 10 days. It has been reported there is a list of would be managers that will be interviewed. The top of the list is:
Terry Francona
Jose Oquendo
Joe McEwing
Chris Maloney, AAA Cardinals Manager
Mike Matheny
It was also learned that the Cardinals asked the Phillies permission to talk with Ryne Sandberg for an interview. Ryne is managing the Phillies AAA team. There is also no sign of talks with Joe Maddon.
I tend to think that Francona would be getting the managerial job. It will probably take no more than a week.
