Congratulations to the New 2011 Champs! The Texas Aggies defeated the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 76-70 to become the 2011 Women's NCAA Tournament Champions. With the two #1 seeds (Connecticut Huskies and Stanford Cardinals) losing in the Final four, the NCAA Tournament was represented by two #2 seeds. The Championship game was fantastic and it went down to the wire but Texas A&M proved to be too much for Notre Dame.
This was the very first NCAA Championship for the Texas A&M Aggies and these ladies proved to be true Champions in every sense of the word. After defeating powerhouse Stanford, they still had enough left in the tank to overcome a very good Notre Dame Fighing Irish Team.
