Cardinals Looking at Alex Gonzalez

The Cardinals have expressed intrest in Alex Gonzalez recently due to the poor production the Cards have at shortstop. As of right now Gonzalez leads all shortstops in the AL with 17HR and 50RBI. According to Joe Strauss the Bluejays had their scouts at the Cardinal-Astros game over the weekend. It has been reported that the Bluejays have had intrest in Brendan Ryan. I wonder if both teams will swap both shortstops. I like Brendan Ryan, he earned his position last year. On the other hand the Cards have suffered the most when it comes to the middle infield. I use to love to watch the poetry in motion with Ozzie Smith and Tom Herr, and not to mention Edgar Renteria and Fernando Vina. These two where also a great pairing to watch. If we will trade for Gonzalez we also need to look into a starting pitcher. The Astros Roy Oswalt has been vocal about coming to the Cards but he just maybe too expensive to pick up.
