Cardinals trim the roster today by sending down eight players. Allen Craig, Jess Todd, Adam Ottavino, Clayton Mortenson, Mitchell Boggs, Charlie Manning, Matt Scherer and Brian Barton got sent down to the minors. The Cardinals are now down to 37 players.
As of today Jason Motte is in the lead as the Cardinals new Relief Pitcher. The report on Motte has him throwing a wicked fastball at or around 93mph. Motte is well known for his fastball but does not have an arsenal of other pitches. It was reported that Mott has been working on perfecting his slider. If Mott gets the job as closer the Cardinals will send Chris Perez to Memphis.
and finally some goods from Spring Training annoucing that Colby Rasmus will make the opening day roster and play some LF for the team.
