Home Opener 2010

Today in St.Louis,Missouri is an unofficial Holiday for us, Home Opener! Its a day where people call in sick to work or take a day off to attend the game. Its a day where we have an excuse to wear red and go crazy over a Albert Pujols Home Run. Today is also a very personal day for me. Since the 1995 season I have been to several Home Opener games and there are some I haven't been to. For several years I have always made sure that my dad had his small pocket Cardinal Schedule by the beginning of Home Opener. Its been roughly five years now since the death of my father and I still pick up that tiny Cardinal Schedule. It was my dad that help cultivate the love of Baseball for me.  Today the Cardinals broke the three year streak of losing their Home Games by beating the Houston Astros 5-0. Adam Wainwright worked eight scoreless innings against the ailing Astros. The game was fun to watch with lots of excitement from Ryan Ludwick's triple to deep center and Pujols Home Run which makes it #4 for this young season. I am pretty excited with this 2010 team but I do see some weaknesses. I am hoping their middle relief pitchers get straighten out. GO CARDS!
